Some long bus routes have an 'F' attached to their route number (such as 195F, 218F, 224F, 721F, 722F). These buses provide a faster service as they stop at less bus stops.
How are these buses different?
Over part of its route, depending on whether the bus is travelling to or from the City, the bus will either not pick up or set down passengers. This allows express service for some passengers on long bus trips. This change occurs at a designated stop along the route shown on all relevant timetables.
How do you know which 'F' bus allows what?
It all depends on whether a bus is travelling to or from the City.
Travelling from the City
If an 'F' bus is travelling from the City, it will not let passengers off until the designated stop. However, it will pick up passengers from any stop along the entire route.
Travelling to the City
If an 'F' bus is travelling to the City, it will not pick up passengers after a designated stop unless passengers are alighting at that stop, (each service has a designated stop shown on its timetable). However, it will set down passengers at any stop along the entire route.
If you are travelling from the City it is most important to check your bus number before boarding, because in the fast section you will not be able to get off the bus.
Is your service an 'F' bus?
There are two ways of checking whether your service is an 'F' bus:
Before you board the bus at your stop, check the front or side of the bus for the route number and designated 'F' stop (as shown above).
OR:
Pick up a timetable before you catch the bus. The timetable will tell you if your service is an 'F' bus as well as its designated 'F' stop. This can be found on the front cover or in the route description on the back cover (as shown below).
If you are travelling from the City it is most important to check your bus number before boarding, because in the fast section you will not be able to get off the bus.
